A Year in Review

Time flies when you are having fun!!! And playing in the yard is way more fun for me than sitting at a computer…so here’s a quick rundown of 2026 projects! The crocuses hailed spring and we had our first inaugural dresser fire, clearing out last years discards. Jim the porcupine looked on from high in his Willow tree as we finished a new garden fence, made easter baskets, and took the years first paddle.

May through July were consumed with travel, visiting friends, and lots of client work projects. But since this blog is mainly about the Estate, I’ll just leave you with a few random images, including Brandon umbrella sailing and our first trip on the Mt. Washington across Winipesaukee!

As the summer rolls on there is more and more produce to jar and process.

In September, I break ground on our biggest Estate project of the year, a new roof to extend the woodshop! Planning, pouring footers, 6×6 posts and framing, leftover metal roofing from the main house, and by the 1st of October we are ready to rearrange the new space in preparation for winter!

Uh oh. While we were busy building we procrastinated on dead tree removal and lost Snowflake the van.

But things are just things and change is inevitable. A few smaller projects round out the season. A box to store my garden pots, one more pallet bed for garlic, some peace flags made from old bandanas to mark trickle creek, landscaped trails to mulch in the spring, and plenty of wood piles from the dead trees we finally got around to felling after our disaster. Fall colors appear around the pond and a cool breeze readies us for the slower months…
