After leaving the trees…we continue to follow the Columbia River Valley alongside curious truck convoys carrying the giant white spokes of industrial windmills and Wide Loads on centipedal flatbeds. Giant wired warehouses containing…what? (we joke) Is that the Google Cloud? As we approach the border of Washington near Walla Walla I wonder how these massive barns of spilling onion mountains will ever make it to a curry in Cali. And then there is nothing but road and dry golden fields…
