After a week or so of recruiting our larger friends, the day finally arrives! The beams are carried one by one and scooted through the bathroom window…effectively if not gracefully:)
Once inside, an end goes up into a supporting slot, then Oomph, Ugh and Hooya! the other end is lifted and a second brace affixed to hold them in place until we jack them up to their final height.
And, of course, any good Barn Raising should be followed with celebration, food and Fire! Burning Down, er…Lifting Up the House!
