Just in the Nick of Time, as the nights start to drop into the mid 30s, our
Mini-Split heat installation team arrives! With enough vehicles and tools to supply a small army, an array of friendly folks begins traipsing in and out of the rain, all muddy boots and tire ruts. The 3 zone system will heat, cool, and dehumidify the whole house, 1 centrally downstairs and 2 at either end upstairs. Socket helps with the packaging. Flamboyant advertisement on the side of the Key vehicles alarms the neighbors:)
The compressor descends like Jupiter Lander onto a pad behind the house and the huge cable casing wraps around like a Sentinel from The Matrix. There is so much activity that we would just be in the way trying to do other projects. And its cold. And rainy. Perfect time for books and cat naps:)
On the third day the electrician arrives and by early afternoon our heat system is kicking! Merrymeeting is officially a 4 season home at last! We check the weather forecast and decide to take our final outdoor showers before shutting down for the winter and draining the lines. Oh how wonderful to come back inside and dry my hair in the warm blast!!
