A standoff with Mama Robin, hatching her eggs atop our paint rollers, resulted in the set-up of our carport to serve as a temporary workshop. I had barely moved in when the craziest downpour we have seen yet this year dropped out of nowhere…flooding the driveway and soaking the kitchen cabinet plans!
Brandon, who is Always prepared for rain, has been busy (on his scattered days off) painting his favorite canoe:) There are endless new treasures to find out on the pond…eerie underwater egg sacs, giant metal relics from the Power Plant days, lazy bull frogs and giant snails.
Despite the relocation, and with the help of Socket and our new friend Jill the deer, cabinets have been progressing at a roughly one-a-day pace. Some of the “boxes” have to be built at the slope of the ceiling in order to hang a level microwave! Wasting NO time once the shellac has cured, in go dishes and cans to start clearing off our surfaces!
Just over 3 weeks from egg to feather, the Robin twins have finally outgrown and left the nest! The nest was promptly moved to a nearby eave in hopes that they might still use it. We have our workshop back!
