The Grass is Always Greener

Peter, the truck, can only carry 1/2 a yard of heavy soil at a time. So after a few runs to the gravel yard, we decided it was worth the delivery fee to get 5 yards dumped. We are building up the eroded banks along trickle creek to reclaim even more lawn space from the forest and keep trickle creek running smoothly.

The vegetable gardens are booming in the mid-July heat, and frequent scattered thunderstorms are watering in our future grass banks nicely.

In DRIER news…I have a new seed drying setup made from old cabinet frames and window screen, mint hangs by the hearth and our herb and tea shelf has been mounted! Brandon finished sheet-mulching and gravel edging the front of the house foundation and we finally have a gutter over the woodshop!

Progress is slow, however, since B is working full time and I am picking up more shifts at the Greenhouse. Here is what a field of 1000 Mums looks like! The perks, for all the heavy lifting and dirt slinging, are a free workout and free trash plants for the yard:)
